<p><b>【雨打萍日记】雨为迎奥运曾试编过英语</b><b>100</b><b>句</b><b>[</b><b>实际是</b><b>200</b><b>句</b><b>----</b><b>两个人对话，一问一答</b><b>]----</b><b>因为不想正式面世，只给亲朋好友看着玩，所以没人知道那葫芦里卖的是什么药。更不晓得那些药材都是怎么采集回来的。今天想说说那</b><b>100</b><b>句的来龙去脉，以便让一位想继续学点口语的博友开开心。</b><b></b></p>

<p><b>口语中不合常规语法，不合逻辑的现象不乏其例。人们只能在具体实际交流或沟通时，才会真正学到所谓地道的英语或其它外语。学外语，尤其学口语，光靠固定的教材是很不够的。必须在真实的社会生活大课堂里学习。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>如果想吃鸡蛋，你至少要知道鸡蛋的五种做法才能说清楚你想吃的是怎么做出来的鸡蛋。如，</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>1．&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </b><b>Sunny-side up&nbsp; </b><b>（指只煎一面的鸡蛋）</b><b></b></p>

<p><b>这里的关键词是</b><b>five</b><b>，指的是有五个指头的手。这个例句再一次说明英语的表达能力有时未必与自己的词汇量成正比。在词汇量相对少的情况下，如果能充分运用自己所学的常用词汇或表达方式也可以有较强的表达能力或交际能力。因此，那种总以为会背的单个单词越多就越有表达能力的看法和做法未必完全可取。应该充分发挥自己已经学过的常用词及其句型或固定搭配的作用才是上策。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </b><b>据统计，老舍的《骆驼祥子》一共有</b><b>10</b><b>余万字，但其中不断重复使用的汉字一共才</b><b>2413</b><b>个。历史上曾有过一个</b><b>&ldquo;</b><b>东印度公司</b><b>&rdquo;</b><b>，其职员们的工作语言是英语，而他们每天所常用的英文单词也不超过</b><b>900</b><b>个。我们国家的学生，包括博士生不会写地道的请假条的大有人在。我们的外语教学思路并不科学，误了几代人。（待续）</b><b></b></p>

<p><font size="3">【雨打萍日记】昨天宣布奥运会鸟巢工程终于竣工了，长出了一口气，脸上最最要紧的饰物终于贴上了，心里美滋滋的。但看到北京到处仍然在大兴土木，破土动工，诸如新建快速公交车站等早就该干完的活还在如新娘现上轿现为戴上金儿环而不得不穿耳孔一样忙碌着，实在有点替北京的官们着急。北京前门的所谓最具老北京特色的大栅栏[读&ldquo;d&agrave;-sh&iacute;-l&agrave;&rdquo;]街的改造工程也说已经完工，可是人们坐公交车眼睛仍然看到一座古色古香的灰砖墙边藏着的是数不清的破砖碎瓦，垃圾如山，让人根本看不到8月8日前有完工的可能。</font></p>
<p><font size="3">再看北京一些旧有的街道或人文景观更叫人不容乐观。到处可见的仍然是可以私刻印章办证的招揽客户的写得歪歪扭扭的手机号码----街道的&ldquo;小脚侦击队&rdquo;给涂上一次，刻印章的贩子就再写一次，恶性循环，没完没了。一个有权威的政府养了那么多管事的，就是管不了这类&ldquo;小广告&rdquo;----真邪了门了。</font></p>
<p><font size="3">再看北京曾火爆一时的世界公园，几天前笔者也想步别人的后尘，一睹为快，可是，一看把印度泰吉陵给石刻成MHHAL,[正确写法是MAHAL或 Taj Mahal]，把埃及金字塔中的法老时而石刻成Pharan时而又刻成Pharon[正确写法是Pharaoh 或Pharos（美国英语）]这类明显的拼写错误不能不叫人扫兴。人造景观本来就先天不足，再用这虎人的英文字给减彩就更味如嚼蜡了。令人深思的是该园开放15年来一直就这么错着，没人管。如果奥运会期间正巧赶上印度和埃及朋友来参观，他们会有何感想？听说几年前北京就请了洋大人来纠正类似的错误，但是为何倒计时都屈指可数了，这类中英文对照的文字错误仍然在&ldquo;我行我素&rdquo;？</font></p>
<p><font size="3">时下，有一种感觉，用俗话说是&ldquo;捏着眼皮擤鼻涕----有劲儿用不上&rdquo;----干着急。在北京开第29届奥运会的日子就要到了，官们，不要以为人们在杞人忧天----该是你们和北京人少睡点觉的时候了。</font></p>
<p><font size="3">建议把有限时间用到正地方。没必要非勉强叫&ldquo;小脚侦击队&rdquo;们非学几句蹩脚的英语以显示国人的水平。倒可以让她们教外国朋友学点中文或汉语，这倒是我们的强项。老是想迎合人家的口味，不自信的炎黄子孙总愿意当孙子，何必呀。</font></p>

<p>【印度泰吉陵】全名为泰吉&middot;玛哈尔陵，是莫卧儿王朝第五代皇帝沙&bull;贾汗Shah Jahan Sh为其爱妃泰吉&bull;玛哈尔Taj Mahal 所建，故名。始建于 1631 年，每天动用民工 2万名，耗资4000多万卢比，历时22年才告工成，为世界七大建筑奇迹之一。据说他原本想在此对面再给自己建一座黑色的陵墓，与爱妃遥遥相望，可地基还没打起就被儿子篡位，被关进阿哥拉堡，每日只有遥望泰吉陵，以泪洗面，死后与爱妃一起葬在泰吉陵。[泰吉陵门票为500卢比+ 250卢比，约15美元。]</p>

<p><b>【续</b><b>6-19</b><b>日记】（因故迟发，略表歉意）</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>雨读杜牧，步其《泊秦淮》大韵，未推敲其平仄，效颦二首：第一首是悼念因飞机失事在救灾中罹难的几位空军英雄的；第二首里的话是对着救灾医疗队那些白衣天使们说的。先用英文给老师和同学说了大意，但自己觉得诗味太淡了，于是就想借助中文的羽毛美化一下。效果如何，也许仍叫朋友们尴尬</b><b>-----</b><b>因为谁都不肯在博面上直说博主写得寒酸</b><b>----</b><b>也只好自己先说了。好在自己也已经哭够了，赈灾表现还不算太寒酸，再借唐代杜牧《泊秦淮》的余味粉饰一下自己的感情外衣也可以暂时画个句号了</b><b>------</b><b>从此不再继续骂苍天无道以显示自己大灾出大爱的诚意了。</b><b></b></p>

<p><b>（</b><b>1</b><b>）英译用的是&ldquo;</b><b>aabb</b><b>&rdquo;压韵模式，即第一行和第二行压韵或第三行和第四行压韵。前两行与后两行不是同韵，这与中文诗格律不尽相同。（</b><b>2</b><b>）雨希望尽可能多地保留原文信息，不赞成轻易简化或淡化原文的细节而只复制原文的大意。应尽量让读者能捕捉到原文的脉搏。比如，第一行中&ldquo;烟&rdquo;&ldquo;水&rdquo;&ldquo;月&rdquo;&ldquo;沙&rdquo;等信息在译文</b><b>The haze covered the cold river beach in the moonlight</b><b>中都直接或间接有所体现。（</b><b>Haze / river/ beach / moonlight</b><b>）</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>（</b><b>3</b><b>）但是，有的词语不能直译，如果把&ldquo;商女&rdquo;直译为</b><b>prostitute</b><b>（妓女）则有伤原诗的大雅，雨是用了相当于中文&ldquo;舞女&rdquo;等字样的词</b><b>dancing girl</b><b>，这个词内涵有一定弹性，可褒可贬。美国作家</b><b>Ronald Schiller</b><b>曾用</b><b>dancing girl</b><b>来描写秦始皇生母身份。这里，雨想借鉴该作家已经建立起来的词语联想机制，这样选词可能是有益的。</b><b></b></p>

<p><b>【</b><b>Flowers behind Palace</b><b>】</b><b>As a melody to the Chinese Ci-poem, Flowers behind Palace</b> is just the title of a song in the ancient time, which was used to entertain the emperor and his family as well as highest officials in the court. Poet Du Mu quoted such a song&rsquo;s title as a symbol of sex mania. It&rsquo;s not accidental for the poet to criticize their indulgence of debauchery. The author writing Flowers behind Palace was Monarch Chen as the last emperor of the South Dynasty (420-479), and he was good in music and poetry but poor in investigation on the common people. He was living an extravagant and dispatched life every day. <b></b></p>
<p><b>【《后庭花》】《泊秦淮》诗中提及的《后庭花》即《玉树后庭花》，它是一首乐府吴声歌曲。杜牧以这支歌曲作为声色亡国的象征并非偶然，因为它正诞生于这个&ldquo;六朝金粉地&rdquo;</b><b>(</b><b>南京</b><b>)</b><b>，其内容纯系绮靡颓废的亡国之音，其作者陈后主又是以声色亡国的昏君。</b><b></b></p>

<p><b>　【陈后主】陈后主姓陈名叔宝，字元秀，是南朝(420-479)最后一个王朝&mdash;&mdash;陈朝的末代皇帝。其人长于深宫，不谙民情，却精通音律，喜作艳词。他继位之后，在政治上疾忠臣如仇敌，视小民似草芥，横征暴敛，刑罚苛重；生活上穷奢极欲，酷好声色，终日游宴，常在醉乡。</b><b></b></p>
<p align="left"><b>【杜牧】（公元８０３～８５２年）唐代诗人。字牧之。陕西长安人。祖父杜佑是中唐有名的宰相和史学家。从青年起抱有恢复唐王朝繁荣昌盛的理想。２３岁时写成《阿房宫赋》给统治者敲了警钟。杜牧生性耿介，不屑逢迎权贵，从而对社会政治持清醒的批判态度。但抱负难以施展，有苦闷，有&ldquo;风流艳事&rdquo;流传。他主张：&ldquo;凡为文以意为主，以气为辅，以辞采章句为之兵卫&rdquo;（《答庄充书》）。他最推崇李白、杜甫、韩愈、柳宗元（《冬至日寄小侄阿宜诗》）。《献诗启》中说：&ldquo;某苦心为诗，未求高绝，不务奇丽，不涉习俗，不今不古，处于中间。&rdquo;与晚唐另一位杰出的诗人李商隐齐名，并称&ldquo;小李杜&rdquo;。他的古体诗题材广阔，笔力峭健。他的近体诗则以文词清丽、情韵跌宕见长。一些抒情写景的小诗如《泊秦淮》、《山行》、《江南春绝句》等，都能用质朴的口语、简洁的白描，传达出悠远不尽的诗情画意，历来传诵人口。而象《赤壁》、《题商山四皓庙》、《过华清宫绝句三首》之类咏史绝句，则又叙议结合，警拔精悍，往往在人们意想不到的地方自出手眼,读来一新耳目。</b></p>

<p><b>[Rainleaf&rsquo;s diary]The first-time report on the heroes&rsquo; hard work of the earthquake relief mission held on June 11, 9:30 am in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. The report is characterized by a distinct personality. Listening to it, I really want to say something about it. </b></p>
<p><b>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </b><b>从前一说到天安门西侧人民大会堂去听报告或看演出，总有一种进宫殿走红地毯那种庄严神圣的感觉，这次场内外的北京人的感觉和雨差不多</b><b>----</b><b>变了</b><b>----</b><b>人们仿佛真的走进了汶川的腹地，亲自目睹了那里发生的一切。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>Usually, one was told to take part in an activity in the Great Hall of the People at the west side of Tiananmen Square, he used to imagine a picture of imperial palace with a long red carpet, and felt a little bit nervous. However, inside the hall or outside the hall, those who listened to the report felt that they returned to Wenchuan County where the earthquake happened on May 12, 2008 as if they were really entering its hinterland so that they would personally witness what happened. </b></p>
<p><b>压根儿没想到玩博客居然能把自己玩哭了，还没动笔写今天的日记呢，眼泪已经偷偷滚了下来。老实说，雨最看不起演戏的人，即使他演得真像个英雄，雨也从不把演员当成英雄而会成为他的</b><b>&ldquo;</b><b>粉丝</b><b>&rdquo;</b><b>。今天自己倒默默地演起戏来了</b><b>----</b><b>感受哭的意识。雨是真哭了，虽然自己独处暗室无人能证明自己是真哭还是演戏。反正平时谁若想让雨真地哭一场真没那么容易，这一哭至少证明了英模的报告的确有震撼力。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>I have never had an idea that I will shed tears in writing my diary. But it&rsquo;s true that my tears secretly were rolling down from my eyes. To be honest, I despise actors or actresses even if they really look like a hero. I have never wanted to be a fan of them. That is, I have no idea to play an actor even if I am really moved by the heroes&rsquo; good quality. Although no one can prove that I really wept in my lonely rooming house. Really I do not weep easily but my tears naturally shed while writing my diary after listening heroes&rsquo; report.</b></p>

<p><b>1</b><b>．一改传统报告会先说些客套话的老模式，报告开门见山，简短但又不乏精彩的细节。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>2</b><b>．朴素自然，无任何故意雕琢加工或拔高的痕迹。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>3</b><b>．英雄也洒泪，洒泪也英雄。台上台下互动，流泪可算是雨首次才发现的一种人类默契现象。此时无声胜有声，理解只需看眼睛。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>Their reports are with the following prominent characteristics----</b></p>
<p><b>(1) it&rsquo;s with no polite-thing words but all the heroes&rsquo; speech seems to be concise and to the point with never-forgetting details. </b></p>
<p><b>(2) Like a good-telling story paper, it&rsquo;s naturally plain without any intentional revised marks or signs. </b></p>
<p><b>(3) Heroes also shed tears but the tearful still are true heroes. Both the audience and heroes on the stage are full of great love and sympathy in mind to all the people suffering from the earthquake. I&rsquo;d like to think shedding tears means a birth of a tacit understanding as a social phenomenon. At this time, the silent-spoken understanding just means looking at tearful eyes.</b></p>
<p><b>也许别人早发现了这种哭鼻子的现象，但至今还没见过有哪位博友敢在博客上大言不惭地像雨这样来申请专利。</b><b></b></p>

<p><b>Perhaps some found such a tearful phenomenon much earlier than I, but so far I have not seen any solid evidence of applying for the patent so as to witness that tears shedding means mutual understanding in the Blog. However, it&rsquo;s Rainleaf that dare to apply for a patent of the tear-shedding phenomenon.</b></p>
<p><b>Rainleaf would like to say that the month from May 12 to June 12 should be called a &quot;tear-shedding-month&rdquo; as &nbsp;the&quot; Red May &quot; we did, and we should commemorate such a special month year by year with our ever-lasting love memory to all the victims. <p><font size="3"><b>【雨打萍日记】</b><b>1999</b><b>年</b><b>6</b><b>月</b><b>8</b><b>日欧美同学会（留美）曾在北京大学医学部组织一次</b><b>&ldquo;</b><b>艺术与科学关系研讨会</b><b>&rdquo;</b><b>，诺贝尔奖得主李政道学长亲临会议，从此，北京更多的学长们才知道他那关于科学与艺术融合的精辟论断是对人类认识论的历史性贡献。</b><b> </b></font></p>
<p><font size="3"><b>他说</b><b>: &ldquo;</b><b>如一个硬币的两面，科学和艺术源于人类活动最高尚的部分，都追求着深刻性、普遍性</b><b>&hellip;&hellip;&rdquo;</b></font></p>

<p><b><font size="3">&nbsp;The above two poems are not exactly the same either in content or in form, but both of them have the same strong effect to have readers moved in their heart feelings.&nbsp; Li Po&rsquo;s (Li Bai) life or Su Shi's life different from us, but their poems written several hundred years or over 1,000 years ago still move the present people and they can still trigger a strong emotional resonance on us. </font></b></p>

I&rsquo;ve met him just once and had no time enough to ask him for more information about his original consideration to form such an idea. However, his view is admirable, and even I admire him for music appreciation. If I were given my childhood once again, I would definitely have to learn something artistic, even if I was determined to learn science and engineering instead of the polytechnic school of literature and history. </b></p>

<p><b>【</b><b>Rainleaf&rsquo;s Diary</b><b>】</b><b>From Beijing Morning Post and other media, I was heard of the news with pictures about Premier Wen&rsquo;s return to Beichuan County where the earthquake happened seriously. I felt as if a warm stream were flowing into my mind. During my childhood, when I was sick, I extremely hoped my mother would keep me company even if she said nothing or did nothing. Right now the news arouses my good memory of my sweet home again. Yes, people either in distress or hardship, particularly hope that their loved ones will be close to them, which means a great comfort and enjoyment. Moreover, our state top leaders are really the biggest backer to the disaster area. So everyone must be excited with Premier&rsquo;s return to seeing the disaster suffers in some original sites where he worked to provide the disaster relief. In my inner world, Premier Wen seems to have come here not from today but a few years ago when the Yangtze River flood-fighting front line in the approaching storm. He stood firm with the people together, whose cordial image long ago still carved in the hearts of the Chinese people. </b></p>
<p><b>Today, as time goes on, people already are not accustomed to using &quot;long live&quot; or &quot;Long, long live&quot; to express the love to their top leaders, therefore, I would like to write a few lyric lines to show my love and respect to dear Premier Wen and all the top leaders serving for the people during the disaster period of time.</b></p>

<p><b>【雨打萍日记】欣闻北京晨报等媒体发了温家宝总理《再回北川》的报道和图片，一种难以抑制住的暖流催人泪下，于是，小时侯生病总希望妈妈在跟前陪伴着的感觉又油然而生。是的，人在危难时，特别希望自己的亲人在场，即使他们什么话都不说，什么事都不做对自己来说也是一种莫大的安慰和享受。更何况是真正的国家最大的靠山来了呢&mdash;&mdash;怎能不叫人激动呢！在雨的心目中，总理是从几年前长江两岸的抗洪前线的风雨中走来的。他的与人民风雨同舟的亲民形象早就刻在了中国人民的心上。</b><b></b></p>
<p><b>如今，时代进步了，人们早已不习惯用&ldquo;万岁&rdquo;或&ldquo;万寿无疆&rdquo;等词语来表达对自己领袖的爱戴了，于是，只想轻轻地淡淡地留下一点笔墨。</b><b></b></p>

<p><b><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">I&rsquo;d like to point out the following&nbsp;four points as their characteristics of teaching:</font></b></p>
<p><b><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">One: It&rsquo;s seemed to be with no fixed teaching materials as a so-called textbook but with a perfectly regular teaching idea, both of them were fond of providing interesting stories or something attractive for students further to know in detail, which can always bring students a strong desire to have something to say. </font></b></p>
<p><b><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Two: I found them always in good spirits, optimistic, easily amiable or approachable. They are used to come among students, taking part in students&rsquo; Pair-Work or Group-Work, helping students to discuss and exchange freely. </font></b></p>
<p><b><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Three: According to their given short passages, they select some key words or expressions to explain in detail so as to help students review what they learnt from the flexible papers as the main content for students to discuss. </font></b></p>
<p><b><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">Four: Both of them prefer to leave much more opportunities to their students playing a young teacher&rsquo;s role in class so that students can make full use of the opportunities to show their talents with personal experience, and simultaneously make some comments on their classmates&rsquo; speech. Thus, students must have a sense of achievement while they are playing a role of English-teacher.</font></b></p>
<p><b><font face="Times New Roman" size="3">In short, in their classroom, it&rsquo;s obvious to see the &nbsp;teacher-student interaction, learning atmosphere very strong, but relaxed and happy, all the students are not suppressed to study hard. Therefore, Speaking in English has become a happy thing. All their students have reason to be willing to learn much more from Max and Veith.&nbsp; </font></b></p>
<p><b>Note: Max is from the US, and Veith from the UK. Right now both of them are working at a key university of Beijing Municipality.</b></p>]]></description>
